Security Statement

The Internet Banking System brings together a combination of industry-approved security technologies to protect data for the bank and for you, our customer. It features a password-controlled access, encryption through the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol using a Digital Certificate issued by a Commercial Certification Authority (CA), and firewalls to regulate the inflow and outflow of server traffic.

Secure Data Transfer

When your web browser connects to the Internet Banking System (IBS) you establish a secure connection for information exchange. Look for these three things to verify you are securely connected to IBS:

    1) All URLs in the address bar should start with https://ibs5.secure-banking.com/

    2) Verify that a closed padlock is displayed next to the address bar or at the bottom of the browser. The closed padlock indicates you have established a secure, encrypted connection using the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol. This connection is secured by a private, one-time key issued from the IBS system.

    3) If you are using Internet Explorer 7 or greater the address bar should be WHITE, not RED or YELLOW.
This secure connection is established based on the IBS system issuing a private key using the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol. With SSL, data that travels between you and the Internet Banking System is encrypted with a minimum 128 bit key. When the session is complete, the keys expire and the whole process starts over when a new end user makes a server session.

Secure Access through Mutual Authentication

The Internet Banking System (IBS) uses multiple methods of identifying you prior to granting access; something you know (Log-in ID/Password) and something you have (your PC). In return, IBS authenticates itself to you by providing you with your PassMark™ and key phrase.

A session begins when you supply your Log-in ID to IBS. IBS identifies the PC you are using and validates it is the one normally used by this Log-in ID. (If this is a new PC you will be asked the series of challenge questions you selected at enrollment.) Once your PC is verified, you will be presented with your PassMark™ image to authenticate the IBS system to you and asks for your password. If you don’t recognize your PassMark™ image and phrase, do not enter your password. IBS uses a "3 strikes and you're out" lock-out mechanism to deter unauthorized users from repeated login attempts. After three unsuccessful login attempts the system locks the user out, requiring either a designated wait period or a phone call to the bank to verify the password before re-entry into the system.

Router and Firewall

All information requests are filtered by secure routers and firewalls before they are permitted to reach the Internet Banking System. These are configured to allow only acceptable protocols and disallowing all other traffic.

Using the above technologies, your Internet banking transactions are secure.
